Translator summary: Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them. Zuo Mo is a zombie faced low level cultivator in a minor sect of a little world. Ever since he was picked up by the sect leader two years ago, he has no memories of his earlier life except a recurring nightmare. Navigating the rigid class structure and intricacies of the cultivation world, as one of the lowest possible of the lowest class, Zuo Mo’s dream is to earn money, and lots of it through being a spiritual plant farmer. A chance occurrence reveals that someone powerful had changed Zuo’s features and erased his mind. The money grubbing zombie decides to set out on a journey of cultivation to find out answers. Fate colludes with chance, the drums of war are beating, the ghost of his past is coming… …

Chinese Summary (Translated): This novel tells the hot-blooded talk of how, in the cultivation world with the laws of the jungle, Zuo Mo, a low cultivator who’s face had been changed and his mind wiped, cultivates, levels up as he tries to find his memories. At the same time, it is the record of the struggles of a miserly, greedy, and shameless “questionable youth.”

Two years ago, zombie-faced male Zuo Mo was picked up by the head of the Wu Kong Sword Sect back to the sect. The amnesiac youth lived a busy and satisfying life, wishing to earn more crystals, and putting in effort into the spiritual wheat. At last, he finally achieved his aim of becoming a spiritual plant farmer. A once overlooked outer sect disciple, he suddenly became a hotshot inner sect disciple. A sudden occurrence gave Zuo Mo the chance to find out a powerful person had changed his appearance and wiped his mind. Add that to the hopeless nightmare he would always have each night, he wanted to know the truth of what happened in the past. So he decided to keep cultivating and at the same time, find his enemies … …

Translator note: This novel is really long. Which is why this is going to be an ongoing translation rather than a completed project like my other two translations which were finished before I started posting.

Also, while the author was one of the top ten web-novel authors in China in terms of income, his stories are noted for world building, characterization, but not a very fast-paced story. This story will speed up but characterization and world-building will take time.

      1. Its just something I found on an image board. No clue if its actually from something or just a solo artistic work.

      2. I believe it’s Xian Er from Battle Through The Heaven (Dou Po Cang Qiong for the manhwa)

    1. Me, too. I want to read about an MC that plants Spiritual Plants. I am going to reread The Legendary Master’s Wife now since Xiao Mo is kind of a Spiritual Plants…. Let me know if there is another kind of novel out there that have MC that plants Spiritual Plants or the likes.

      1. Well, this one does, at least at the start. The story devotes quite a bit of time and effort to it really.

Other than that, you could try My Daoist Life. It only kinda sorta meets the criteria though.

Anything else I’ve read only really mentions the farming in passing and never requires the MC to put any real thought or effort into the process. Its just a gimmick to get the story on the path of whatever tired cliches the authors’ have decided to embrace.

      2. Try reading legendary master’s wife. MC has a purity all space that he plants and grows things in quite regularly until the last 200 or so chapters (novel is 730 chapter long) beware it is bl.

  1. Farming for all dem monies? Awwyiss.

(Actually, the translator notes are what really caught my attention. World building and characterization are always welcome. Thank you for your hard work!)

      1. Sorry, you got caught in the Akismet spam filter. TBVW is completely translated. It’s just the editing right now before I post it each day.

  2. 2 complete project? which ones? i only see “just one smile” …

  3. 2 complete project? which one? i can only see “just one smile”.. what about the other one? link please \@_@/

  4. If i may ask, does this novel have any romance? I’ve noticed the other ones here have romance as a major part, however this one seems entirely different.

    1. Not romance the way the other two have as a large part of the story. This one is much longer and the romance is just a minor part.

      1. Even if its minor it’ll shoot up my priority list!
Is it at least conclusive? And is it a monogamous relationship? I end up disliking quite a few Chinese works because of harems.

  5. Hello! My name is Emil and I’m a Russian. I very-very much like your translation of WoC. So, few weeks ago I had idea of translating your translation’s WoC to Russian. Want to ask you, can I?
About me – I love to write some stories (sometimes poems too) and also like to read chinese novels (pity don’t know chinese myself, so reading eng translation of them on net).
Thanks to you I was able to know this great story of WoC. I have my own little blog, so was thinking about to share this story with my friends who don’t know English or very lazy to read on it.
    I admire you. Best regards!

P.S. I want beautifully translate your translation, so more people can to know of WoC. Will be waiting for reply.

    1. You are welcome to use my translation as a basis for your own translation into Russian. Just the same as with my other translations that are being used, please make sure to link this page, cite the website or have a note saying who the author is and all the other information.

  6. when does he get to the nagami cultivation im on chapter 174 but he is only of zuhji (know im not spelling these right)

  7. Thanks for translating this!

I am not asking for spoilers, but I have a concern. I read a review that said this novel near the end loses its quality and collapses, ending very disappointingly…. Regardless of what the ending is, would you say it’s still satisfying to read to the end?

  8. I don’t know if anyone has asked this question before, but I couldn’t find it after looking.

Is there a map for the novel? It’s always fun for me when I can see where Sky Moon Jie, Little Mountain, Bright Wave, the Metropolis, etc… are located and border with each other. Sometimes some novels release maps, and sometimes fans make fan maps. I was wondering if there are any for this novel. If yes, please link!

And thank you so much for the translation! I just started it about a week ago, and I’m catching up to your releases! Great novel and awesome job at translating it!

      1. Hi there, just checking to see if there are any maps yet. Does anyone know of any maps for this novel? Even fan made?

  9. Would be really great to add pictures of the characters if there are any in the cast section.

Thank you very much for the continuous translation.

  10. Is there a Patreon for this novel? I tried to find wyhcwe and world of cultivation but I couldn’t find it. I really like this novel and the translator does a great job so I wanted to help.

  11. Just started the novel, really enjoying it. However, the next button seems to link towards the wrong novel (To be a virtous wife) in a lot of the early chapters (25-41, as far as i’ve gotten now). Would also be amazing if i could next right at the bottom when finishing the chapter instead of having to scroll all the way up.
    Thanks for translating 🙂

  12. I was wondering if someone knows wether there is any spoiler of this novel in The Avalon of Five Elements?
Or if there is no connection at all with no mention whatsoever of any character or event?
‘Cause I hate spoilers to death, no matter how small and insignificant.
    Thanks.

  13. i really like to read this novel but the sheer numbers of pingyin made me stop because i cant remember what the meaning is and flipping for glossary over and over really reduce the immersion.
i know this is good novel but i dont want my first experience reading it ruined because i dont understand and cant remember major of terms in pingyin so i stop reading it and hope there is alternate version with english translated pingyin.
i really appreciate the translator works and i know the translator wont change their style. sigh. such a shame.

Tell me something
