Chapter 26 has enough pictures for a standalone chapter. Seriously, I don’t even know how those people put on that much jewelry and the weight of the hair … …
Chapter 26
元宝髻(yuanbaoji): it is in the shape of a sycee(kind of currency in ancient China) so this could also be called sycee knot.
头面: ornaments
A set of thirty-six pieces from the Qing Dynasty
A restored set of jade toumian
堕倭髻: douwoiji,
A model of the official uniform of a third-grade official’s wife in the Ming Dynasty.
Since they put so many ornaments on their heads, they must have stiff neck muscles right? The head alone is already heavy…
Sometime they also wear fake hair ~ I feel tired for them 😐 Whenever I wear high heel I can’t even smile … *respect them * with load of things on them
Yup, they have fake hair and other structures to keep the hair up. But hair doesn’t survive a few hundred years.
Thank you so much for these supplements. They are as much of a highlight as the chapters. 🙂 I love the douwoiji hairstyle.
@@ wonder how those ornaments would look when its worn, I’d have trouble figuring where to put stuff lol
Wearing those ornaments needs great neck muscles (LOL)…can’t imagine myself wearing any as I prefer free-flowing hair….glad am not in that era….but thanks for the added visuals….
Thanks for the supplement. Love the pictures. Makes reading a pleasure.
Thank you so much 😘😘😘!!!
Thank you…the ornaments are so pretty….
And to think they don’t exercise much. LOL. It reminds me of the Angels of the Victoria Secrets fashion show. They do extreme physical workouts before the fashion show to have those flawless bod AND to be able to lift those heavy wings or accessories on the runway.
Oh, the dedication~ all for the sake of beauty. And here I am munching another pastry as I read this lying down on my bulging belly. Hahahahah!
Thankies for these info!
