Chapter One Hundred and Thirty Nine – Formation-Defense-Style

The ferocity of Su’s counterattack surprised Gui Feng!

After the three rushed notes were spat out from behind the black gauze, the Black Daze sword that was held horizontally in front of Su’s body began glowing. The surrounding space twisted as if pulled by  an invisible hand. There was no wind, but one felt as though the space was collapsing. Gui Feng’s white bone sword trembled, the two dots of ghost fire in the eye sockets of the skull guard flickered like the a candle flame, and seemed ready to be extinguished at any moment.

Gui Feng’s expression changed dramatically!

The ling energy around Su’s body was extremely chaotic. The white bone sword was like a little boat in a storm, about to capsize  at any moment. That moment just now, he had almost lost his connection to the white bone sword!

What sword scripture was this?

Full of shock, Gui Feng decided to retreat.

Su instantly detected Gui Feng’s intentions. She snorted coldly, her right hand actually letting go of the hilt of Black Daze.

The Black Daze sword did not drop to the ground, but floated horizontall and was spinning rapidly. At the same time, a clear hum started to sound like that of a bell, sometimes near and then far away.

As the bell sounded, countless invisible magnetic lines formed a gigantic net, heading for the white bone sword!

[Magnetic Polarity Net]!

Without a flying sword, a sword xiu was just a tiger with no claws nor teeth.

Gui Feng was not willing to surrender. The cold light in his eyes grew, his body twisted slightly and he disappeared on his spot. Ghost Movement! At the same time, he appeared in the magnetic net!

Falling into the web? Su was slightly surprised.

Appearing in the magnetic web, the first thing Gui Feng did was reach to grab the white bone sword.

Once the white bone sword entered his palm, Gui Feng felt very secure. He had understood Su’s sword scripture!

The strongest attribute of the magnetic force sword scriptures was that they could manipulate the ling energy in the world, affecting the connection and blocking the sword xiu from their flying sword. If they cultivated to high levels, they could easily control the magnetic forces of the world to their will, possibly even creating their own world, extremely powerful.

However, Su was far from that step.

Holding the copper coin hilt, Gui Feng’s wrist shook. A shriek came from the white bone sword, like a soul wailing. A ball of black mist flew out of the flying sword, suddenly exploding and turning into countless wisps of thin smoke that spread in all directions.

In the blink of an eye, there were countless thumb-sized black ghosts in the surroundings. Formed from the black smoke, these were little black ghosts , their faces like those of a leper that were extremely ugly. They appeared extremely horrifying,  their bellies were round, their limbs short and stout, and their eyes were an eerie green.

The dense crowd of little ghosts floated beside Gui Feng, so many they could not be counted, fearful to the bystander.

Gui Feng’s pupils were a strange dark black, so deep the bottom could not be seen. His face which had been dark and thin in the beginning was now completely robbed of vitality, so white it was like that of a dead person.

Behind the black gauze, Su’s expression finally changed!

Gui Feng grumbled a sound, and the white bone sword in his hand pointed at Su.

[Little Ghost Ask Directions]!

Creak, all the little ghosts in the sky simultaneously gave a strange howl. Their features twisted as they turned to countless black images and headed towards Su. These little ghosts were extremely fast, their bodies blurring as they would suddenly disappear in the sky, and then suddenly appear out of the air.

Ghost Movement! These little ghosts had the ability of Ghost Movement!

Su did not dare to keep her strength now, her right palm firmly hitting the sword hilt of the Black Daze that was spinning.

The Black Daze sword was like a windmill as it spun, circles of invisible magnetic force suddenly spreading out.

A thin snow-white finger pointed at the center of the black light wheel.

[Magnetic Shield]!

The invisible magnetic force that was spread by the wheel of light instantly increased to the point that the ripple like patterns were visible to the naked eye. The invisible patterns quickly covered Su.

The vicious and raging little ghosts, when they encountered the invisible patterns, were instantly deflected back. But these little ghosts were not damaged in the least. With a strange howl, they kept on leaping towards Su!

This seemed like a black storm that would never stop, howls ringing out endlessly. The little ghosts did not seem to know exhaustion, repeatedly charging at Su. The invisible patterns were like the surface of a lake that was being attacked by the storm, rippling restlessly, but no matter how the little ghosts charged, it managed to firmly protect Su.

The battle instantly became a stand-off. Neither could win over the other.

Gui Feng’s ebony black eyes looked deeply at Su behind the magnetic shield, and suddenly disappeared on his spot. Disappearing along with him were the countless little ghosts.

This black storm had came suddenly, and left even more abruptly!

Su took a breath, but did not dare to move aside her finger. Only when she was certain that Gui Feng was not beside her did she move her finger aside, releasing the magnetic shield. Only now did she discover, without her noticing her back had become soaked with sweat.

Su, who had been very certain that she could guarantee that Zuo Mo would enter the top ten, realized that she had underestimated the heroes of the world!

Calming down her messy ling power, she decided to go find Zuo Mo immediately.

The faster she found Zuo Mo, the higher the chance they could win this battle. Up until now, she still had not received Zuo Mo’s paper crane. This made her heart fill with worry.

Did the little zombie have such terrible luck? Had he encountered danger so early?

She unconsciously sped up. If she had an appropriate flying sword just now… …

———

Zuo Mo had long thrown the matter of the paper crane to the back of his mind. All of his attention was on his [Skyring Moon Chime Formation].

The [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] was the formation he had gotten in payment for processing the Inky Black Lotus Seed. It was the only fourth-grade formation in his possession so after he had received it, he had spent large amounts of time on it. He had made a very profound conclusion. Formations above fourth-level weren’t that simple.

[Skyring Moon Chime Formation] did not look very complex. It was a mother-and-child formation. The grade of each child formation was not high, most of them second-grade. The formation that was the crux was just a third-grade formation. But the more he studied it, the more Zuo Mo felt this [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] was not simple!

The difficulty of each child formation was not high and he could easily complete it, but fitting all of them together greatly increased the difficulty.

The smallest [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] required eighteen child formations. The more child formations there were, the more powerful the formation became. The power of a thirty six child formation [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] was extremely powerful. If Zuo Mo was trapped in it, he definitely could not get out.

Zuo Mo had decided to make a seventy two child formation [Skyring Moon Chime Formation].

Seventy-two child formations and thirty-six child formations, the number of child formations had doubled, but the difference in  the power had more than doubled.

The little mountain of materials was mostly prepared for the [Skyring Moon Chime Formation]. If this formation was successfully set up, Zuo Mo felt the likelihood of a ningmai xiuzhe coming out once they were trapped in the formation was low. Also, the [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] was extremely profound. It was impossible to damage the formation just through brute force, unless someone found the eye of the formation.

But at the eye of the formation, Zuo Mo had just carefully made a gigantic “dan cauldron!”

It was a pity he didn’t have the time to fantasize about his enemies being burnt. Zuo Mo needed to quickly finish the formation.

It required large amounts of time to set up the seventy-two child formations. So in Zuo Mo’s plan, it was to first make an eighteen children formation [Skyring Moon Chime Formation], and with that as the base, add another eighteen, forming a thirty-six [Skyring Moon Chime Formation]. Increasing it step by step, it would make sure he still had the power to fight if an enemy sneaked up.

He was extremely proud that he had thought of such a great plan.

His cultivation wasn’t enough, so ge won’t compete in cultivation with you people!

Looking at the formations that he had already set up, Zuo Mo’s heart was filled with accomplishment. With the pond as the center, the groups of formations, jade pieces, copper cauldrons, and metal nails flashed with blinding light. The pond had been half a mu large in the beginning. This formation territory had reached an area of five mu. Originally, not many people had been paying attention to Zuo Mo, but when this five mu of formations were completed, all kinds of lights came and crossed. In comparison to this gigantic light-emitting formation area, the golden armored seal soldier that was summoned it was extremely tiny.

———

This formation belt was really too eye-catching. The people watching from the gigantic mirage in Dong Fu could easily find it with a glance.

Consequently, many people unconsciously looked at this sparkling formation belt.

Their expression were strangely similar, all gaping with wide eyes, dumbstruck where they were.

Pei Yuan Ran and the others had abnormally ugly expressions. Because their cultivation was too high, they could easily hear the conversation in the surroundings.

“I heard this guy is from Wu Kong Sword Sect, he isn’t the normal kind of extreme!”

“Are you sure it isn’t Wu Kong Formation Sect?”

Pei Yuan Ran’s eyebrows twitched. The other three had dark expressions. The four of them had a strong impulse they had never had before –– charge into the Great Pine Pavilion, and cut Zuo Mo down with a blow to pay for his crime towards the ancestral masters!

Another kind of conversation was going on at the other side.

“I understand now!” A xiuzhe suddenly stood up, his face full of realization, extremely excited.

Hearing this, his companions hurriedly crowded over. “What do you understand?”

The xiuzhe was extremely excited. “Zuo Mo’s true aim is to get the entire Great Pine Pavilion! He’s putting on a disguise and winning in the dark! He wants to slowly take over the Great Pine Pavilion. Right, the books say this is called nibbling… …”

At this time, not just Pei Yuan Ran, but all of the Wu Kong Sword Sect disciples, were so embarrassed they wanted to find a crack in the ground to hide in.

“This disciple is unfilial! To have shamed the ancestral masters!” Tears streamed down Pei Yuan Ran’s face, extremely sorrowful.

Xin Yan’s hand unconsciously touched his flying sword, his voice seeming to have come out of purgatory. “I will let him know that he cannot go to Wu Kong Formation Sect!”

Yan Le, who was usually cheerful, gritted his teeth. “From next month, I’ll stop all of his allowance! He won’t get one more jingshi from me!”

Shi Feng Rong’s response was very calm. “Don’t worry, I’ll help heal him. He definitely won’t die. You can slowly work on him.”

The disciples in the surroundings were shuddering as they unconsciously distanced themselves from the exploding elders.

Zuo Mo, not knowing that he had provoked public rage, was extremely proud. He turned into a laborious worker-ant, energetically continuing his great endeavor of construction.

Just five mu, it was too small!

Once the seventy-two child formation [Skyring Moon Chime Formation] was completely set up, it would form a gigantic formation belt over fifteen mu large!

Zuo Mo called his new idea: formation-defense-style. The full name was Complete Formation Territory Defense Style.

Today was the day destined for formation-defense-style to become famous.

Zuo Mo was extremely motivated, his heart full of anticipation!

    1. Zuo Mo has Silly Bird, and also the Great Strength pill, which is less mystical and more terribly crass in Chinese. I would almost call it the Brute Pill.

Okay, I admit the ghost one is bad too.

    2. remember that it has been translated so it could sound cool in Chinese or perhaps the characters have some double meaning

  1. Oh Zuo Mo. Keep digging your grave, at least people can’t notice you are smiling inside, what with your Zombie face.

  2. Damn, every chapter I hate the Wu Kong Swords sects elders even more. They are despicable and shameless. They never helped Zuo Mo, guided him or gave him any benefits, and then they get mad when he makes progress in a different direction. They force him to compete with people much stronger than him, and even when he wins they are still mad and plan on punishing him. The elders are the only ones who shame the sect, and I hope all the elders get killed for being so stupid.

    1. what you are saying makes no sense he was given appropriate resources allowed to learn all the sword scripts and received personal training he simply has no interest in the sword in fact you could say that wei has had even less direction yet he has improved to a crazy level as a sword xiu

      1. Given appropriate resources? You mean the way they “gave” him materials for dan making. He had to get his own, waste his own, learn his own. Oh, maybe you mean the resources from his ling farming – oooh, wait, nooo, he had to buy his own ingredients for that too and then sell them to pay back the debt of the original purchase. / Allowed to learn all the sword scripts you say? You must mean the way the elders lazily opened up the sword scripts at a point far too late so EVERY student could check them out. You mean that? That wasn’t for Zuo Mo. They had already given the other two sword knuckleheads in that school EVERYTHING. Please, sir, please!! / Received personal training you say? You must mean how they gave him the most ornery ice-sword teacher who didn’t give to craps about him and whose skills he couldn’t even learn at the time. You mean that training? Oh, no, no, no, you must mean when his dan making teacher LOCKED him in a closet for days on end, practically abandoning him, sink or swim, while he struggled to figure everything out for himself. / No, just no!! Our MC only has that Mao to thank for anything. He owes his sect nothing. WORST. SCHOOL. EVER.

      2. – He is not a Ningmai
        – the other participants are ningmai
        – He need to reach TOP10
        – The Elders don’t say anything about how he should reach TOP10
        – His options to reach TOP10 are: Hide, run, and formation, the best chance is to make formation

Need I say more why I agree with dns7950?

      3. In response to all reply’s :
locked in the closet are u serious? wei peng had to fight evil spirits and could have DIED this is CULTIVATION OF IMMORTALS and ofc they didnt just hand him everything its a SECT you have to EARN things…… duh seriously you guys make it seem as though they have hindered him when in fact they are pushing him to his limits like MARTIAL ARTIST DO instead of babying him is this like the first xianxia/wuxia you people have read or what?

    2. Again someone tell this guy they are sword xiu and that they view him as wasting his potential and ignoring his sect’s ancestry and tradition and how in the hell did this get liked? kill the people that brought him in when he lost all his memory and took care of him? seriously? they even did it knowing the risk that helping him brought along(that they could incur the wrath of some powerful expert)
i mean cmon and their threats arent to permanently harm him only refine him into a sword xiu….. a powerful one at that.

      1. Took care of him? They paid him pennies on the dollar for crops that he worked his fingers to the bone for. He lived in a tiny shack and had to travel into town to scrape together enough money for a single scroll. And they blame him for being greedy.
They “took care of him” when suddenly he became a skilled ling plant farmer and everyone wanted to steal him away.
If they “took care of him” with any bit of thought then they would have treated him with a tenth of the favor they gave their bratty innersect disciples whose allowance is more than he made in a year.

      2. personally I would have left the sect after becoming a ling plant farmer because I am a little rancorous. But the mc is not and I think every sect pretty much work the same way with their class system, so from this world perspective he received what he deserved since he did not show how valuable he was.

for the part where the sect still think badly of him when they see his progress and did not acknowledge him, thats because they are sword xiu in a sword xiu sect the author I think want to show that little sect are a narrow minded and in the future chapter we will see how a formation can be powerful, everybody will change their opinion and the four elders will feel a little shameful of themself and glad at the same time to have such a disciple. thats not a spoiler.

I still think they are a little stupid it’s clear for a sect it’s more useful to have a formation xiu than to have a sword xiu. one can protect the whole sect when one can only protect few, I think the aurhor is showing how much remote this city is.

    3. So damn right, if they want him to become a sword cultivator the least they should do is TO GIVE HIM A SWORD, hell, thinking about it his first sword was given to him by those guys who wanted to lure him to their sect… and those gifts are still more valuable than the personal resources the sect has given to Zuo Mo up to this moment, it sounds very shitty when one thinks about it

  3. OMG I’m dying right now. The stupid elders are kind of pissing me off though with their bias against formations. Thanks for the chapter!

      1. Right, but as Pu said, sword scriptures are also formations. The fact that they don’t realize that is probably why they’ve never advanced beyond jindan.

      2. They do lack resources considering Wu Kong Sword Sect was weak when they had grown up. Going above jindan is hard.

      3. True, but usually gaining comprehension is what makes it hard. So if they studied formation, they might be able to gain insight into the sword and pass whatever bottlenecks are holding them back. Though it may be different in this story, a lot of things are.

  4. Thanks for the chapter! Thanks to xandarth who commented on the elders’ motivation which I understand better now. Wu Kong Formation sect ,hehe..

  5. his heart full of anticipation!
.. only because he has no idea what his masters are thinking! lol

    Thanks for the translation!

    1. There’s been enough hints to point out that his likely course of action is to work his formations into his swordplay. For example imagine a Chinese coin sword who’s each swing releases a new formation (combine formation discs with his water drop sword) each stance creating a new element cycle.)

      1. ::shrugs:: Pu Yao kept pointing out that magic/swordplay/forging/etc, all boils down to formations; which means that flying swords are basically fixed reusable formations that you inject energy into. Since he has a shapeshifting sword, and a pagoda that can transmute and absorb elements, it just makes sense to capitalize on it.

  6. Thanks for the chapter. It’s almost like they didn’t pay enough attention to Zuo Mo, allowed him to specialize in formations due to that, and then started to loudly hate on him for using the only powerful tool he has to not turn into meat paste in a giant battlefield far above his level! I’d like someone to go slap some sense into those elders, but to be perfectly honest forcing him to learn how to do better with swords might help with other stuff later if only due to being a different kind of difficulty from formations as well as increasing his direct combat capabilities to give him time to set up his formations.

    1. well its kinda like going to the worlds best musical college with a scholarship in conducting, then learning about brassworking on the scholarship and getting a degree in instrument repair. The alumni are ticked that the student is treating the school like a vocational institute.
Or better yet, i go the world class dojo on a kendo scholarship and learn how to make kimono.

      1. Well actually it’s like someone goes to a school focused on music with only a few non-musical disciplines (dan making and one forging student).
The school knows that he is learning say, mathematics, which can roughly be used for the school, though that’s not their main focus(farming/dan making).
They do not try to teach him anything about music, in fact they tell him repeatedly that he won’t be any good at it because he has to many hobbies. He is initially refused when he asks to learn an instrument, but they allow it when he is challenged by someone who has been playing since childhood. After he ties that person, they still don’t care. Later when another school rebukes them for their negligence they give him a 6 day crash course on keeping time and throw a fingering guide at him. Then they ignore him again.
Now after forcing him into a music competition, they were praised for having a student who can play a song by hearing it once.
Suddenly they are really angry that he is learning math and physics instead of music. Even though they told him up front that he would never be any goody at it.
And that is this story if it was about a stem kid in music school 🙂

      2. Except they did teach him a lot of personalized lesson about swordmanship/music but he ran away from them whenever he could, and constantly insisted on doing other things while they sent him tutors and secret music methods.

      3. Now I don’t remember this, about what chapter did they try to teach him, other than the crash course after he fainted, and the list of things he did wrong in his duel, both of which he did faithfully and used to great effect.
They also told him he wouldn’t be any good at the sword and that elemental sword scriptures aren’t good because of their lack of purity.
Initially his master was angry when he ask to learn a scripture because he was diverting his attention from Dan making. When he finally got one, it was one of the lowest tier scriptures you can get.
If you’re talking about them later opening the jade scroll library, I don’t think allowing you to read books counts as teaching. By that, everyone should be able to play music if given a how to book… that’s not realistic

      4. to borrow from your analogy, this world doesn’t have sheet music notation, their manuals are more like descriptions of what the songs sound like and you have to piece the notes together yourself, there’s no “channel 1.3 motes of ling energy to the third meridian before combining it with the the energy collected in step 6 before rotating it through the 2 meridian and placing an inverted force on the flow moving through the flying sword.” its more like

“Let the ling energy flow gently though the arm, and as it reaches the hand combine it with the firm force of the hearts blood to make it spin like a typhoon”

Sword arts are deeply personal and hard to teach (in this type of novel), so in many cases giving them the books and telling them to figure it out is the best they can do.

      5. If it was that subjective then they wouldn’t have corrected his errors after the match.
Also if it was personal they wouldn’t be upset that he merged the ice dragon sword essence. Louli and zumo’s scriptures can’t be taught because they merged others with them. Thus making their own.
Wei sheng’s scripture can’t be taught because it is the lost scripture that was created before.
Sword scriptures have specific movements which are like notes. Otherwise there would have been clarification not correction when he first got the li water scripture. and they do talk about the “movements” of it. The thing that’s subjective is sword intent which is like a musician’s style when playing and comes with time.

  7. Hehe, to all those who think the Sect Elders are big bullies and should die, I say: don’t worry, if they try to mess with Zuo Mo, they will. 😉 They will dig their own graves.

Pu Yao is recovered and full of power now. The last time Pu Yao fought against a bunch of jindan, the fight lasted ten seconds (result: one jindan dead, one dying, the rest fleeing in terror). And Pu Yao needs Zuo Mo, and wants him to earn as much jingshi as possible. If those old geezers try to kill Zuo Mo or cut his sources of income, they are in for a nasty surprise. >:-)

    1. remember… these guys are the ones that hunted these Sky Yaos back then and also being at the same stage of power doesn’t mean you have the same fighting capabilities. Pu is very afraid of the Ice Dragon.

  8. Hahaha.
I swear, someday soon he is gonna kill someone from laughter.
Can’t stop loving this novel. So unique.

  9. I wonder why he hasn’t been attacked yet?

Well, at least it should be easy for Su to find him even without the crane 😉

  10. I laught so much. Zuo Mo know how to make others mad.
But, this was quite previsible. What did they expect of him ? They know his personnality. In fact, they knew perfectly that he would fight in some unique way. A Zuji frown in a Ningmai nest … Regardless of his sword’s level, he could never have expect to beat a ningmai in a frontal confrontation.
These elders are really a bunch of hypocrite. ^^

  11. The elders are short sighted ,but they are definetely not bad people ,they are like a traditional family of doctors ,that obviusly wants their children to follow their footsteps ,but this talented kid wants to be a singer 🙂
They just feel bad becouse they think he is wasting his potential with the sword.

    1. Come, for Zuo Mo’s sake, let us construct the Wu Kong Formation Sect!

And, can you even imagine Zuo Mo singing???
      Zombie: Do re mi fa~

      1. — ge, mu (fight song starts) ” jingshi” ” jingshi” more ” jingshi”

  12. Embarrassment Zou’ Mo is definitely a embarrassment. The root of the issue about his study of formations is his personal Ya moe that little devil that lives in his consciousness. oh and that one of the little “rewards” stopped his increase in cultivation. Is it even possible that he would spend time not searching for a way to fix that. Not on your life any cultivator worth there salt is going to work hard to solve that problem. So at this point he really can’t be focused on the sword other wise he will always be stuck at his current cultivation.

  13. Think you are all also forgetting something, the only real reason they are angry is they found out he had this talent at the beginning stages, but its not his talent, just the fact that he got sliced thousands of times by the same sword essence he was bound to learn it, even an idiot could do it. While they angry at that his real talent is in the 5 elements(specifically water being strongest) and formations. (also another talent could be his ability to make jingshi :P)

  14. Thanks for the chapter ^^
The elders are truly hilarious, I always love to see their reactions and the anticipation for the clueless ZM to face them later, it always made me laugh, so I don’t get all the hate coming for them :/
On a serious note, it’s reasonable for the elders to get angry. Some ppl have pointed it out, the are sword xiu and sword sect. If ZM don’t have any talent for sword then they won’t be like that. But gosh they thought ZM is genius thanks to his confession of learning shibo’s sword essence with one look LOL
They didn’t know why ZM works so hard with formations while the sword scriptures already opened for all. It’s not like ZM will tell them he’s stuck with his cultivation and for now his only options lies in learning formations.
Don’t hate the elders they made my day xDD

  15. Hah. Poor Zuo Mo. If his teachers don’t appreciate their Renaissance zombie, they should trade him to a more open-minded sect for a nice sword technique. They can’t believe that forcing him into a lifestyle which he can’t stand will make him into a pillar of the sect.

  16. I’m guessing that once the formations are finished, then anyone who steps into them will be suppressed cultivation-wise and he can then use his lower level cultivation sword skills to win.
If they compete on skill vs skill rather than skill vs power then the Zombie will win against everyone on the field except super sword guy… the other all tend to use their power to beat their opponents rather than being better with the sword.

    1. he’s using the five element cycle to convert the energy from the pond into something he can use his arts with, uhh,, its more like he’s built a hall of mirrors and an is using an electric chainsaw with an extension cord. He’s going to be powerful as long as he’s hooked to the energy source. To put it in perspective, he’s making a maze when converted, wards a circle about 180 feet in radius, while his cauldron formations covers about 105 feet in radius (5 mu), which gives him a 75 foot wide “moat” around the central area where he can fuel his arts with the cauldron. He’s built a castle and challenged the generals.

  17. Oh my, what level of dumbness is in the world now, never would I have expected these humorous elders (complaining about Zuo Mo using formations instead of sword arts to battle; while it’s all for his and the sect’s good outcome) would invoke ire from some people enough to cause them to write paragraphs of their so called injustices.

    PATHETIC xD

many thanks for the chapter 😀

    1. … I feel vaguely insulted.

If you don’t like people being mad at fake injustice, you have just as much right to not read it as I had to write it.

  18. Thanks for the chapter!

I think we are witnessing the creation of Wu Kong Sword Sect: Formation Department. Elder Zuo Mo teaches ethical looting, and cost effective formation creation. Hit above your level, loot everthing under heaven. Cost of the course is only 1000 forth grade lingshi.

  19. The fact the sect elders are putting ZM down for using formations, really is upsetting. I honestly want him to change sects and bring Xiao Guo with. “GET IN TOP 10!” – — Wtf is he doing not using sword moves as zhuji against these much stronger opponents. Ummm HELLO? God i want him to explode at these weak old fogies. It’s like they are stupid. Well they are.. thinking a single talent & lost sword scripture is going to skyrocket the sect. Why’d it get ‘lost’? Why’d the sect fall if it used to not be lost Simple, you can’t rise without jingshi. ZM is only one with brains. You dumb fogies think you can raise cultivation with talent. If you got no money, how he’s supposed to eat!

  20. I do agree with a lot of the others who comment about how bad at teaching and taking care of their disciples the elders of the Wu Kong sects are but I do find it interesting from a story point of view. First sign they are bad elders : Their first talented disciple Luo Li they give him everything and lets him do whatever he wants making him become arrogant and lazy, they basically made him trash that way and was only saved thanks to Zuo Mo. Second mistake from the elders that they acknowledged themselves : They send Wen into the sword cave way too sound without enough preparation he survived by pure luck. This is already their two top talented disciple almost completely ruined by the elders but managed to be saved with their own luck. Now for Zuo Mo : They only care about him after finding out information they should have found out many chapters ago if they truly cared about him, its like they completely forgot that at least 50% or more of their current profit comes from him being a ling farmer and an incredible Dan maker. No wonder the sect has been on a decline ever since they’ve being in control.

  21. I feel like Zuo Mo is trying to solve high school physics with… Math! 🤣
And college math at that. The physics teachers are al mad, but what can Zuo Mo do, who is only knowledgeable to elementary physics at best?

    Thanks for the chapter!🍀

    1. These elders needs to chill. Without formations, sword scriptures would not exist
