Chapter Five Hundred and Twenty – The Master of Cloud Sea

No one had  expected that the battle ended in this kind of manner.

When Lil’ Miss received Zuo Mo’s paper crane, he did not have any hesitation and led his troops directly towards the Cloud Sea Jie’s jie river. No one knew that Turtle Island had achieved victory over the mo army. There were large numbers of xiuzhe gathered at the jie river and were preparing to flee Cloud Sea Jie.

When Lil’ Miss appeared with the troops, he instantly caused panic in these xiuzhe. Even the xiuzhe that occupied the gathering points on the jie river assumed that Turtle Island had been defeated. In panic, they instantly abandoned their bases to flee Cloud Sea Jie.

Lil’ Miss easily took over the bases on the jie river. There wasn’t any conflict involved.

Those xiuzhe that had been running away quickly reacted when they saw Lil’ Miss take over the gathering places.

Turtle Island had defeated the mo !

As expected, the news of their victory was quickly proven. Everyone was overjoyed!

At this time, control of Cloud Sea Jie landed completely in Zuo Mo’s hands.

They had become the true masters of Cloud Sea Jie.

The xiuzhe that had been planning to escape returned to their homes. Without the mo army threat, who was willing to leave their homeland?

Turtle Island’s strength astounded everyone!

At this time, which faction did not know of Zuo Mo’s ambitions? But the situation had formed and they could not do a thing. Fight? The other could defeat the mo army. Wouldn’t killing them be as easy as waving their hand?

The factions that were not willing to be subordinate to Turtle Island left Cloud Sea Jie. However, many families that had deep local roots decided to stay in Cloud Sea Jie.

Unexpected to Zuo Mo and Lil’ Miss, the great majority of people decided to stay.

Zuo Mo later learned that most of the people in Cloud Sea Jie did not care who ruled them. Turtle Island’s strength was also enough to protect them and for them to feel safe.

With the Sky-Splitting Calamity, war was spreading everywhere. These days, the sound tablet continuously broadcasted areas that had become battlefields, which areas had been turned into a patch of scorched earth, or was filled with mountains of corpses. It seemed that within the span of one night, the xiuzhe world really entered a troubled era!

In a troubled era, preserving their lives was enough to satisfy most people.

But for Zuo Mo, this was just the beginning. He was extremely busy every day.

The enormous Cloud Sea Jie was the largest piece of territory he had ever controlled. The responsibilities as master of a jie were novel and puzzling for Zuo Mo, an ignorant country bumpkin with unorthodox origins. The complex matters were piled up like mountains and caused him a headache. He did not know where to start.

Out of helplessness, he could only ask Pu Yao and Wei.

“Hm, now you see, I guessed this would happen long ago.” Pu Yao did not reserve his disdain as a scornful smile hung on his face. “This guy is just a country bumpkin. He can manage some business that doesn’t require long term investment. But to be a small time landlord, ha, he doesn’t have the skill!”

Wei did not pay attention to Pu Yao’s disdain. He had a warm and friendly smile on his face. “Did you encounter some trouble?”

Neither of these two were good people!

In all of this, Zuo Mo was clear on this one point. Nothing more needed to be said about Pu Yao. He was an ungenerous person but Wei wasn’t much better. He might look harmless and friendly, but his level of danger wasn’t any lower than Pu Yao.

He did not respond to Wei.

He had to cause conflict between these two … …

Zuo Mo’s eyes turned and he suddenly asked, “Pu Yao, how is your yao army?”

Pu Yao’s expression instantly darkened. The anger in his bloody pupil roiled. Those damned talentless trash, idiots, garbage! Even when he used all his methods, the foundations of these people were too weak and they could not satisfy Pu Yao even now.

Yao army?” Wei gave an interested smile. No wonder Pu Yao had been absent in this past while. So he had been working on a yao army.

It seemed this guy still held a grudge over him stealing away Guard Camp!

Zuo Mo disregarded Pu Yao’s dark expression and said to himself, “No matter how powerful Ten Finger Prison is, it is only the Ten Finger Prison. It cannot solve all training problems.”

“Useless words!” Pu Yao’s voice was glacial and his expression was unfriendly. He knew that Zuo Mo was right. Ten Finger Prison was very effective but it also had its limitations. It could not replace true combat. At the beginning, Nan Yue and the others had improved quickly, but recently the effects of lacking combat training had started to show. Their rate of advancement had slowed down.

But damn it, was the great Pu Yao Daren someone this boy could laugh at?

It seemed that it had been too long since the boy was straightened out. This guy was becoming outrageous!

Pu Yao was irritated. Just as he was going to punish Zuo Mo, Zuo Mo suddenly spoke, “I have a good solution.”

“Haha!” Pu Yao seemed to have heard a great joke and roared with laughter. He did not disguise his look full of disdain. “You, the country bumpkin, has a solution! This is too funny!”

Immune to Pu Yao’s disdain since long ago, Zuo Mo’s expression was unconcerned. “You can listen first and then laugh.”

Pu Yao’s laughter suddenly stopped. He stared hard at Zuo Mo and a moment later, he squeezed out between his teeth, “You better have a solution. Otherwise, hee hee!”

Zuo Mo said solemnly, “Many chaos rifts have appeared in the Sky-Splitting Calamity. These chaos rifts have connected the worlds of yaomo and xiuzhe. It is correct for me to say so.”

“Don’t waste words!” Pu Yao said coldly.

There was a faint smile on Wei’s face. He sat motionlessly and listened carefully.

“The yaomo and xiuzhe territories can be connected through the chaos rifts rather than travelling through Bloody Sky Metropolis Jie like in the past. The distance between the two sides has shortened!”

Just as Pu Yao was running out of patience, Zuo Mo suddenly said, “Maybe we can create a transportation formation and transport Nan Yue and the others over here!”

“Transportation formation?” Pu Yao paused and then had a thoughtful expression. A moment later, he shook his head. “Impossible! We cannot determine their location!”

“You know that some transportation formations are composed of a yin and a yang component. What if we get Nan Yue and the others to set up the yin formation?” Zuo Mo asked in response.

Pu Yao’s eyes suddenly lit up. He was an extremely smart person and instantly understood what Zuo Mo was thinking.

These transportation formations were divided up into yin and yang formations with the two situated in different places. This way, the two formations could still connect and so there would be a passage. If Nan Yue and the others could set up a yin formation in the yao world, a yang formation set up here, that meant … …

The chaos rifts formed from the Sky-Splitting Calamity were actually natural transportation formations.

Pu Yao quickly thought of the difficulty involved. He shook his head and said, “The transportation formations are too complex. None of the others understand formations.”

“We have sun seeds,” Zuo Mo said proudly. “The sun seeds can enter the Ten Finger Prison and be taken out. We can engrave the transportation formation onto the sun seed and use the Ten Finger Prison to pass it to Nan Yue. Wouldn’t that work?”

“Hm, this idea is interesting!” Pu Yao stilled and then had a pondering expression. A beat later, he said, “We need to try and find out.”

Zuo Mo’s idea was very daring.

“I can supply sun seeds to you. You can find Gu Ming Gong for the transportation formation. That guy is very clever,” Zuo Mo said generously.

“Hmph!” Pu Yao snorted, he did not respond to Zuo Mo. “You only have to assign the daily affairs of Cloud Sea Jie to those local powers and get them to take care of it. If they do it well, reward them. If they don’t, they get punished. Gather their powerful xiuzhe and make a battalion with your people as the leaders. Adding on your own battalions, who can rebel?”

Zuo Mo slapped his head and understood.

Pu Yao just used a few words and smoothed everything out, pointing straight at the crux of the matter!

Zuo Mo wasn’t stupid. He had been bewilderment because he never had experience dealing with these matters before. After being guided today, he instantly understood!

He left the sea of consciousness with excitement.

From beginning to end, there was a faint smile on Wei’s face. It was unknown what he was thinking.

———

Shi Dong looked coldly at Ye Ling.

Ye Ling was unaffected. “Does Shi Dong Daren have any questions?”

“What you say is true?” Shi Dong coldly spat out, his hand on the mantis blade at his waist.

“Completely true!” Ye Ling said sincerely. “All of my subordinates saw Daren’s Great Day mo physique. If Shi Dong Daren has any questions, you can ask any one of them.”

Shi Dong’s expression did not change. “His subordinates are xiuzhe!”

“There are xiuzhe!” Ye Ling corrected the mistake in Shi Dong’s words, “Guard Camp, which is the camp that my superior, Shu Long Daren commands, cultivates mo skills. Shi Dong Daren might have heard of the skill, [Hardship Guard]!

“[Hardship Guard!]” Shi Dong’s pupils suddenly contracted. Of course he had heard of this name. This mo skill was something usually cultivated by the guards of mo generals and had an extremely high in reputation.

“Yes, it is the [Hardship Guard] that most mo general’s guards cultivate,” Ye Ling said with a grave expression. “But the [Hardship Guard] that Shu Long Daren and his group cultivate has been modified by a very powerful daren and is based on the Great Day mo physique. It is called [Great Day Hardship Guard]!”

Shi Dong could not stop himself from showing shock.

“A daren that can use the Great Day mo physique to modify [Hardship Guard], could they possibly be xiuzhe?” Ye Ling asked in response.

Shi Dong was silent.

He knew that Ye Ling was correct. Someone that had the ability to use the Great Day mo physique to modify [Hardship Guard] was a powerful elder who definitely had a profound understanding of mo skills. This kind of powerful person would not likely be a xiuzhe. This didn’t just mean they couldn’t be xiuzhe, they also could not be yao. There was only one possibility, it was a powerful mo, and an unusually powerful mo!

“Cultivates the Great Day mo physique, has created a mo army, and has a mo elder of immeasurable power, I cannot think of an identity for Daren other than mo.” Ye Ling was calm and wise.

Shi Dong was silent for a moment before he asked, “What about those xiuzhe?”

“This is the xiuzhe world! Shi Dong Daren!” Ye Ling reminded Shi Dong. “A purely mo troop cannot survive here. Daren needs xiuzhe!”

Shi Dong gave a bitter smile. He was persuaded.

He sat down dejectedly.

Ye Long looked understandingly at Shi Dong. He said gently, “I know what Shi Dong Daren is feeling. For you, surrendering is hard to accept, but if you look at it from the opposite angle, Shi Dong Daren, isn’t this a great opportunity?”

He looked hard at Shi Dong and asked, emphasizing each word, “Shi Dong Daren, how many years has it been since there was a king arose from our Little Savage Jie?”

Shi Dong’s body shook. He raised his head, his gaze as sharp as a knife. “You think he can become king?”

“Maybe, maybe not.” Ye Ling’s tone was indifferent. “But Daren is the mo with the greatest potential to become king that I have ever seen!”

“So you gambled everything?” Shi Dong asked. His tone was filled with disdain.

Ye Ling was unaffected and smiled as usual. “What else do we have? Shi Dong Daren?”

Shi Dong became silent again.

Translator Ramblings: Some days are just not worth getting up for if you knew what was going to happen. Why do people have such a high estimation of their own skills and then not admit their mistakes?

In other news, more comedic banter between Pu Yao and Wei. Zuo Mo has now become a small landlord. Just one jie, not even one percent of the world!

    1. Not sure if they’re adrift, but otherwise yeah, though the size is probably closer to continents.

    2. Follow up question, what is a Jie River? If it is the ocean between two continents, how can you seal the entire ocean? If it is a narrow channel, why people won’t just travel by boat around all the guards?

      1. This has never been explained (I think) but I imagine a void of untravelable space on the sides of the jie rivers.

      2. A Jie River is like a portal between Jie. You can block the ends of the portal. Going around it just leads to the endless sea. Not to the interior of the portal. Also, Jie Rivers don’t appear to be short. You don’t fly in one end and come out the other. It looks like you have to travel a great distance to get from one end to the other with no place to rest in between.

      3. From the sounds of it a Jie River is some sort of wormhole, it’s not clear what Jie’s are (I’m pretty sure the word means district) they may be entire planets or material planes or large continents, it’s never been clearly explained..

The floating islands are specific to the Jie they are in and float on top of a large cloudbed. It’s possible there is solid ground below the clouds. The Jie might even be a gas giant and the floating islands it’s belt.

    3. I imagine them as separate dimensions.
Its like this: There is void(an infinite space, where life is impossible), inside the void there are countless bubbles, inside each bubble there is a world(jie), and each bubble may touch another bubble allowing the passage between jies.
My theory could go on, but Im too lazy to write and people are lazy to read XD
      ——————

      Thanks for the translation!

      1. The jie are divided by oceans because the 8 immortals left China across the ocean, to cultivate on a mountain.
I think it’s also worth noting that in mythology, the primordial void is equivalent to the primordial waters/ocean. I’m not sure how similar the concepts of interplanetary space and continent-dividing oceans are in Chinese, though.

      2. Then allow me to add my 2 cents.
Like you said that there is a infinite void with Jie that are found in their own bubble like structure. They are connected with each other with large bodies of water which are roughly the size of the ocean but narrow. They only slightly touch the side of the Jie with expanse of 1 to 100 km while the rest of the other sides are just void. Some Jie might have only one river connected to it, while others are connected with 5 or 6 or maybe even more. The distance between Jies might take at least 2 to 4 months of flight at the ningmai level. I imagine the structure of the world or universe seems like the nervous system, try googling it. Just let me say that this is only my own theory of the world up to now.

  1. “Cultivates the Great Day mo physique, has created a mo army, and has a mo elder of immeasurable power, I cannot think of an identity for Daren other than mo.” Ye Ling was calm and wise.
Omg! I wonder how he’ll fell after he realizes that Zuo Mo is Xiuzhe

    1. After the Yao show up and ZM shows off his shen skills nobody will believe he’s xiuzhe. How do you PROVE someone is xiuzhe instead or yao or mo anyways?

      1. Jokes aside, I wonder if its possible to have hybrids( half xiuzhe half yao, half xiuzhe half mo or half yao half mo)

      2. Mo have another form, for one. At least that’s the way I understood it. I always thought of mo as monster-like with human transformation capabilities.
Most of the Yao we’ve met don’t look completely human. Remember the annoying tree person that kept calling Zuo Mo ‘strange cousin’? The one made of smoke? Though enough of them must, otherwise more people would have thrown a fit about Zuo Mo being in a yao only space.

      3. So I’m thinking that ZM will be the bridge that lets hybrids start to be born. Also if I remember correctly your cultivation method has been stated repeatedly to be proof of your race. If you weren’t born Mo, no Mo cultivation for you. Same for the other two races. All three have tried to steal each other’s powers lots of times but none has ever suceeded………that’s if I remember the earlier chapters correctly.

  2. Thanks for the chapter.

Still to geniuses(Pu Yao) they can often forget things.

  3. lol, I guess we’ll just have to wait for him to become a big landlord with jie’s in each of the three factions 😉

Looking forward to the yao faction’s reaction to finding out that Zuo Mo is living in the xiuhe world. I wonder if they’ll still insist that he’s a yao?

    1. Yao following ZM will be stunned but in the end won’t care as much. Following ZM is profitable. Especially to their lives.

Greatest reaction will be from that chick that following them.

      1. The greatest reaction will be the Yao finding out he has Mo and can use Mo skills. The Mo seeing him bring in Yao and can use Yao skills. Then both of them going insane when they also see his ling power. It may not happen immediately, but I can’t wait see how it’s handled.

    2. Since ling power doesn’t work in the Cloud Sea, can Ge send his Yaomo subordinates below and establish a secret colony there safely away from the xiuzhe?

      1. They’re not strong enough. If I remember correctly, the stuff that lives down there, that they know about, is stronger than jiedan.

      2. Turtle Island still has a lot of off-limits area and its formation. The original army won’t care and or gossip much. If the new camp is a problem he can just move them to Xu Ling City.

  4. 1% ?? so like how the USA is barely 2% of earth? I feel like 1% would have been overkill, how would they supervise such a large territory.

    1. There are apparently around ten thousand jie, at least according to Five Way Heaven. So Zuo Mo only controls 1 / 10000 jie = .01%

    WTF is this?

Didn’t Zuo Mo already learn this lesson when he escaped into Sky Sects territory and built Golden Crow City? He was burdened with a lot of responsibility so he handed training the troops over to lil miss, control of the items and currency to Bao Yi, created the beginning of golden crow camp to help with the materials, and used his subordinates to keep people (they kidnapped) in line. Why is the story acting like this hasn’t happened before? It’s not that hard to apply what he learned there here.

    1. Bao Yi even told him pretty much the exact same thing in Chapter 258.

Bao Yi: “First, we have to set the rules down, what they can do and what they can’t. If rebellious ones come out, we erase them. In the short term, they won’t dare to make trouble. After a while, we can pick obedient ones from them, and give them some sweets, like a team leader or something, so they will manage for us. These people that directly receive benefits will be directly connected to Boss’ aims, and definitely will put their all in.”

      1. @viderant, The people and resources he has now are not a strong foundation?

He already has people; powerful, well-trained loyal people that are armed to the teeth, and is possibly one of the richest people in the jie.

Sure a jie and city are different, but the heart of this jie is Xu ling city. It’s where all the big shots set up camp. He keeps that city in line and influence would spread to the rest. Do you honestly believe anyone on the outskirts would make a move? That was one of the biggest reasons he didn’t want to stir up to much trouble when Xu ling was running things. Even had an idiom for it. Something about a dragon can’t beat the local snakehead.

There is no interpeting, Bao and Pu said basically the same thing with one difference.

Bao: If rebellious ones come out, we erase them. In the short term, they won’t dare to make trouble. After a while, we can pick obedient ones from them, and give them some sweets, like a team leader or something, so they will manage for us.

Pu: You only have to assign the daily affairs of Cloud Sea Jie to those local powers and get them to take care of it. If they do it well, reward them. If they don’t, they get punished.

Both people in this case are people he doesn’t trust. The former being people he kidnapped and later being the local powers. Both are telling him to enforce order with his subordinates. He couldn’t use a high ratio of people in GCC because Vermillion Bird Camp was still in the midst of forming and even at it’s peak is at most 100-200 while they kidnapped a 1,100.

The only think Pu said that Bao didn’t was use some of their forces to build your own. Thing is, Zuo Mo already did that when making GCC. Where did he get all those workers that started this mess to begin with? Where did he get the people to form Vermillion Bird Camp?

    2. It can be explained.

In Little Mountain. First, ZM used jinzhi to originally keep a hundred people in line. Secondly, the powerful battalion was used to keep people in line. Thirdly, jingshi was used to keep people in line.

All the methods above was easier to use in Little Mountain Jie and Golden Crow city but harder to to Cloud Sea.

      Can’t jinzhi the entire jie.
      Can’t jingshi the entire jie.
Ratio ZM’s loyal people to general population to low.
Ratio of size. ZM only needed to maintain order in a city, not an entire jie.
All the people in LM were xiuzhe, hardened survivors, and loners by situation. Once you have those people’s loyalty it’s actually easier to maintain order. The current people of CS have divided loyalty to sect, family, etc.

      1. He already couldn’t jinzhi all the people they kidnapped in the beginning of building golden crow city. There was over a thousand of them.

He doesn’t need to jingshi the entire jie; only those who show the most loyalty and punish those who rebel. With them competing for his favor, he won’t run out of jingshi because only those who give the best merit will be rewarded and they will be too preoccupied with one uping each other to rebel.

He has enough people now: around 8 jindan, a new almost gold battle general, bigger guard camp, black turtle camp, golden crow camp, the guy that runs the merchant business, and all the people that ran to his island for safety. He holds a lot of influence with common people, has influential people that owe him, and has people with strength.

Doesn’t matter where their loyalties lay. Zuo Mo saved their home and the ones who didn’t want a new boss left. Everyone that stayed are happy to be protected and have no problem obeying. All he had to do was everything Bao Yi told him and all he learned back then. The author just likes to lower his intelligence (Expecially when dealing with Pu) for no reason.

      2. The foundation he built with jinzhi allowed him to use power and jingshi to control GCC. The matter of scale as far as population, distance and time are not to be underestimated, going from tiny city to a jie. And human nature only carries so far and lasts so long.

If you interpret Bao Yi’s advice as delegate to people (you trust) and maintain order with high ratio of powerful people

Pu Yao’s advice is delegate to people (you don’t know) and maintain order with your power people while also reducing their power buying you enough time to solidify your base.

It a slight difference but it’s death by degrees.

      3. *sigh* there is no need to go nitpicking everything …. The overall quality is great you simply “let it slide” when minor things like these happen.

Could just throw a excuse like : Zuo Mo young +personality+whatever or even more simplistic: different scale and situation, one was small and control over the territory wasn’t important(only troops and affiliated) , now the scale is huge and control over the territory is important

      4. @shiro, It’s not nitpicking when character development is ignored, especially when it’s this story’s strength . If the author had actually pointed out new problems instead of bringing in the same ones I wouldn’t have cared. I was expecting Pu Yao to actually say something useful, yet I get the same thing Bao Yi said ages ago and Zuo Mo thinking it’s amazing. It makes things meaningless when you don’t follow through on what you have already established.

It’s not the reader’s job to make excuses for a writer. It’s the writer’s job to follow their own rules and not tax our suspension of disbelief. If you have to do mental gymnastics to rationalize something a writer did than it’s bad writing. I like this story, but it’s not above critic.

    3. being golden crow CITY master is different from being cloud sea JIE master… and also, the context changes everything.
golden crow city is short-term management with the goal of leaving little mountain jie. thus, the use of jinzhi, strength, fear to keep people in line is an acceptable solution precisely because it is meant to be temporary. furthermore, when zuo mo delegated work and responsibilities to certain people, these people showed willingness to follow him – therefore, these people became his core people.
cloud sea jie is long-term management and a vast undertaking – river jie entrances, transportation formations, jie borders, people with history and roots with the land, the jie itself being made up of cloud islands… these and more have to be taken into consideration. pu yao’s advice has keywords of cloud sea jie local powers/their powerful xiuzhe versus zuo mo’s people as leaders/zuo mo’s own battalions – this emphasizes the scale isn’t it?
one way of looking at it is that now all turtle island people (and zuo mo’s battalions) are all cloud sea jie people; but not all cloud sea jie people are turtle island people.

    4. It is like the different between handling a business and country.

Little mountain can be said as business due to all of subordinate are under him but in cloud sea jie, there are akin to citizens of the country. A wrong move could make the citizen angry and rebellion could happen.

It happen in real life right now regarding Trump becoming president. Obviously he aren’t able to differentiate between running business and country, that why all the negative happen not even 1 month has past since his inauguration.

  6. So I’m confused. I thought the Sky Splitting Calamity was just the xiuzhe names for the mo using existing chaos rifts to attack. This chapter makes it sound like the Sky Splitting Calamity created chaos rifts.

And since when have chaos rifts a dime a dozen. It was the rare one in the “Building A Army” arc then you have xiuzhe using them to attack yao (and mo?) and now mo using them to attack xiuzhe.

If they existed before why was no one using them to attack. If there are new ones being created now, have we gotten hints as to the reason? Maybe, the reappearance of shen power in the world?

    1. it is unclear how long the chaos rifts have been around, but the knowledge of them is recent at least for the populance, earlier on when we saw how ZM’s yao friends were doing it mentioned some groups moving and the Yao in general worrying about the rifts, as a recently revealed weakness, long established family lands could be invaded at any time and they just found out how to detect them.

Pu knew about them and Mo have been using them, but I think I remember some xinxhe doing so too (I definitely remember Pu saying it is only safe for those below Jidan to go through however) In short they are a phenomenon that has drifted out of the public knowledge, like a lot of things Pu knows, just as he is ignorant of a lot of modern advances (new types of mo and yao used in the combat chess for example)

The Sky splitting calamity is the sudden invation of xinxhe lands by the Mo (and Yao?) via the chaos rifts, it is unclear whether the rifts recently formed or the xinxhe were just ignorant of them but the end result is that nowhere is considered safe for the moment, except for cloud sea Jie, which knows where the rift is, has coopted the invading army, has exceptional battle generals and battle hardend troops and sundry other experts via turtle Island, and is likely to advance in many ways due to ZM’s generous management style. Now that I think of it that style could be summed up as treating everyone as inner sect disciples, but without forcing them to focus on what the sect’s ‘correct’ focus is but instead on what they are good at. ZM’s is treating every one of his subordinates as he would have liked to have been treated back in his old sect, I am not even sure he realizes this or jsut does it thinking it is good buisness.

Finally after that side track, the final advantage of cloud sea Jie is that it’s success is relatively unknown at present and they control the jie river. Those that left because they didn’t want to be ZM’s subbordinates in the end will spread the word, but the river can be fortified and will be along with the rift to secure the Jie, and thus the secrecy about how turtle island will develop/secure the Jie will be maintained

I can’t wait to see what ZM does next

      1. Essentially, the rate of chaos rift occurrences suddenly went up. In the past, you might have one chaos rift every one per 100 jie, and now it might be one per 10 jie. So groups travel through to invade whoever is on the other side more frequently. It is a calamity in that the rifts are random and so people can be attacked without any warning.

    2. As for why so many are appearing now. Nope we’ve gotten no clues I’m aware of at any rate. If someone saw some clue me in please lol. With the “Sky Splitting Calamity,” I’m thinking the author just worded things badly. Far as I can tell the rifts are being titled as a Sky Splitting Calamity because there are so many new ones being born.

  7. So the Xiu think he’s human because he cultivates ling power and do everything with it, Yao think he’s yao because he can enter 10 finger prison, Mo think he’s mo because he has top class mo physique. Ge is a mirror.

  8. Thanks for the chapter WYHCWE and WanderingGummiOfDoom! Actually we still have no idea what Zuo Mo’s real identity is and how he’s related to that girl with powers nobody’s seen before.

  9. Pu-chan and Wei-kun tried to play “good cop, bad cop”, but Zuo Mo was this time wise enough to sidestep that trap. And Ye Ling is eagerly dragging Shi Dong to his “Daren is mo” delusion. Like: “Of course Daren is mo! What else Daren could be but mo? Duh, look at the evidence! Daren is so MO.”

  10. Meatbun Delivery~
Thank you for the chapter ( ●w●)

It’s getting harder and harder for me to imagine what a jie is..
Especially after reading Wyhcwe’s coment a jie is not even 1% of the world?
At first i thought a jie is like an islands sorrounded with sea.. then a complete world(planet), with wormholes connecting it.. now wyhcwe said it’s 1 world.. so is it floating islands that have wormhole, portal, flying ships?
…is this a final fantasy world?! Is ZM going to start Shinra Corporation?!

    {Copied from Yunchii}

  12. I am somewhat confused. In the shen temple arc there were 3 yuanying.
Shouldn’t even one of them have been able to greatly harm/wipe out these mo recon groups?
There hadn’t yet been any poisoning of the ling power in the area.

    1. What is most likely is that they decided to leave. What’s the point in staying and fighting if they could live well in any place?

  13. Now he only need his yao subordinates to come.

Zuo Mo can’t die now or there’ll be some terrible consequences….

    Thanks for the chapter!🍀
