Chapter Five Hundred and Fifty Seven – Screw Live and Die Together
Zuo Mo did not know about what was happening on Turtle Island.

The most eye-catching was the sun matrix at the center of Zuo Mo’s forehead. The perfect circle was made of complex and beautiful patterns. There was a jagged zig-zagging pattern on the circumference of each deep dark gold sun, representing rays of light.
Zuo Mo’s face was not handsome, but when the sun script symbol appeared there, it added a hint of mysteriousness and nobility.
Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus, each sun represented a source of power. He needed to accumulate power and activate each sun. Each sun contained a transformation. Ten suns, meant ten transformations.
According to Wei, mo that cultivated Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus were rare, and rarer were those that comprehended all ten transformations.
Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus, each transformation was extremely powerful and domineering. What was even more frightening was that the power of Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus would be used with finesse and technique, and was not just the application of brute force.
But what was most famous about the Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus was not the ten transformations, but that it had the title of best domain in general level, [Ten Crow Celestial Domain]!
Hearing this, Zuo Mo hungered for it. It was a pity that Wei didn’t know how to comprehend [Ten Crow Celestial Domain].
[Domain] was a type of power that was accessible to only those yuanying xiuzhe, general mo, and Rahula yao. Ding Zhen’s [Lantern Fire Buddhist Domain] was an example, and Wei Sheng had been able to grasp the beginnings of [Domain] while he was in jindan. Wei Sheng’s talents were astounding.

With his body now in a balanced state, having had a breakthrough in his mo physique, ling power, and consciousness. It was the two powers to first have breakthroughs that were now holding him back. Zuo Mo worked on processing the shen power in his right hand, and then turned it into ling power and spiritual consciousness. He used this method to also strengthen his Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus.
Zuo Mo had originally assumed that this stabilization would take a long time. Unexpectedly, he only needed ten days to raise his ling power to yuanying levels, and his consciousness to yao mansion.
One factor was the abundance of shen power. The increase in the power whirlpool in Zuo Mo’s right hand was still accelerating, and the amount of shen power he draw everyday increased. While overjoyed, Zuo Mo was also slightly worried. Based on this speed, the shen power being produced every day would soon surpass the amount he could process.
The other factor was that while his Ten Crow Celestial Apparatus was not very stable, it was at the general level, and higher than both jindan and yin spirit. But Zuo Mo had forcefully crossed the boundary between levels by relying on treasures and his understanding of the power was completely different than others at the level.
All paths of power led to the same destination. Even though the mo physique was different compared to ling power and spirit consciousness, there were many places Zuo Mo could study and copy.
Pu Yao and Wei were not shocked by Zuo Mo entering yuanying. In their eyes, this was natural. However, Pu Yao was slightly excited now that Zuo Mo’s consciousness formed the yao mansion.
Yao that formed their yao mansion were called Rahula yao and could be counted in the ranks of experts in the yao world.
Zuo Mo’s talent in yao arts was actually very good, but compared to the even more amazing mo physique, it was slightly lacking. Leaving Pu Yao to feel that although Zuo Mo was his student, Wei had taken the glory. Now that Zuo Mo had formed his yao mansion, it meant that he could pass more yao arts to Zuo Mo.

“However, he needs power.” Pu Yao’s robes moved despite the lack of wind, his voice became deep. “He doesn’t understand himself, and we cannot truly understand him. His enemies most likely are far more powerful than even he imagines, he only has one path.”
Wei suddenly gave a small smile. “Very similar to how we were.”
Pu Yao’s memories were stirred by this, a reminiscing expression in his bloody pupil. He quickly calmed down. “Also, it will not be unprofitable for them to follow him. Families that stood guard for thousands of years and did not give up should return to glory!”
Wei sighed. “I do not know how many still remain.”
Pu Yao also became silent. He also did not know.

Zuo Mo suddenly stopped his cultivation. He detected someone was approaching. His body turned towards the people approaching and stood between them and A Gui, shielding A Gui behind him.
Two figures appeared like ghosts nearby.

Zuo Mo who had not lowered his guard suddenly focused his gaze. He asked in a deep voice, “How do you know?”

“I will go with you to Nether Spring Jie,” Ceng Lian’er said serenely.

Translator Ramblings: I really want a prequel with Pu Yao and Wei. They have such interesting lives. Is Pu Yao from one of the major clans, which I don’t think he is, or was he a “commoner” that was seriously talented and made his own way up to become a sky yao and essentially the battle general of the yaomo? What was Wei’s clan like? How many masters did he go through with the gravestone?
Also, the chapter title is a nice pun. It can be interpreted two ways. One is ‘screw “live and die together” and the other would be “screw, live and die together.”

LOL, I’m certain Libon would like to thinks he’s cool in the picture, but straight male would find it disturbing. The problem’s the bowtie in a half-naked male. Male flexing muscle and men in tuxedo is completely alright, but half-naked male wearing bowtie looks like a gigolo in a porn film to me, so yes, I find it very disturbing too. I can relate he want to look cool, but this pose of his is a fashion disaster.
I was also thinking “Screw, live, and die together!”. Pretty funny though, usually in these novels it’s the male MC pushing for this kind of thing. Meanwhile Zuo Mo doesn’t want any women in his life apart from A Gui, but I guess the authour has something else in mind for our (un)fortunate protagonist.

Is it me or when zuo mo was against pair cultivating and ceng lian’er retort with ” bevause of your right hand”, there’s a dirty joke implied there. Cause i read that and was like “…what?”

Wait, so he basically passed right through jindan in 10 days? That seems an absurd amount of time to get to yuanying, and a bit of a letdown, after everyone else had these big tribulation scenes, to have it just mentioned in passing.
I kind of liked the idea of an MC who was weaker than his subordinates in their particular area of specialty, but was so well-rounded that he was pretty good in everything. Not sure I like the idea of just suddenly giving him a power boost so that he’s better than everyone at everything.
I think only his Mo physiques are in yuanying stage, the ling and conscience are still jindan stage. But maybe Im wrong :p please someone confirm or deny me XD
He still isn’t, everyone is still a specialist at something. Zuo Mo will never beat Wei Sheng at sword cultivation, Zong Ru at body cultivation, or Lil Miss at being a yao general. Heck I doubt he could beat Ma Fan, Lei Peng, or Nian Lu at sword cultivation. Even Golden Crow camp have surpassed him in a quite a few areas because they work as a unit and have more time to focus on things he can’t.
Just because his cultivation base may be higher doesn’t mean he is better than someone or can master their skills. He most likely can’t even learn a lot things that they do.
He relied on treasures to get to Yuanying, so he’s probably weaker than even his camp will be when they get to the peak of Jindan.
Also yeah, I agree about the lack of tribulation/signs when he broke through.
So almost exploding doesn’t count as a tribulation? 😉 Zuo Mo just cheated and absorbed it with rare treasures+ rare Shen power resonance… (a result of Ge’s most powerful treasure sense… luck)

well… all of us knows that Zuo Mo is a pervet even sinse that ilusion spell that uses the things ppl desire the most hit him, and he saw a bunch of naked women and jingshi (or was it gold?)

if I remember right, the first one was the girl who likes to use explosion used (author still didnt say who she is, maybe from kulum or the seal sect), she used one with only woman, but after that someone used one spell that used the deep inner desires against him (it was the women from where the flower soldiers came I think), in this one, he saw some beautifuls and a sea of jingshi. altogether, there was some 3-5 spells from this type used till now, however, maybe because his memories are sealed he doesnt seems to care about the opposite sex.
Wow this bs sucks, he got forced into paired cultivation and has no choice in being with her and now has to share his life with her? This is some of the biggest bs i have read in some time, i hate stories were beautiful girls get forced into the main story by random bs, just for having more girls around the mc. There is no point to it, and it makes the story worse. I hope he can somehow get out of this problem, so he wont be chained to her like that.
Well, it’s not exactly right. The thing is, the “cultivation” isn’t forced and it isn’t “life” sharing.
It literally said that if either of them die, the other would lose all his/hers shen power. And strenght is equal to life in their world, and if he dosnent take her along he risks losing his powers at any time, how is that not being forced.
Man, I feel like the last four or five chapters were written specifically to set up that ‘right hand’ joke, srsly. 😛

Several months ago, I went ahead to around chapter 700 with MTL. I completely failed to notice Zuo Mo entering jindan and yuanying in these chapters, so I was pretty confused as to what his actual cultivation level was for the next 150 chapters.
For how suddenly and late in the story Ceng Lian appeared and how much she was forced upon Zuo Mo and the story, she’s actually fairly likable. This did get me started wondering if Zuo Mo was going to have some sort of harem of A Gui, a mo, a xiuxhe, and a yao, one for each type of power he cultivates. For added hilarity, I hope at the end someone explains what sex is to him, and that it’s not even included in his recovered memories.
Poor zuo mo, he dont need beautiful face he just want beautiful feet.

Also, Im unhappy at how easily he’s leveling up with the newest development. It’s been way too much of deus ex machina: he healed her, avoided being in conflict with her dad, found out some information about his past, healed himself, formed his jindan core without any tribulation AND he pretty much has a long-lasting way to keep powering up without any concerns since Lianer neutralizes the only disadvantage….Come. On.
Sometimes people get lucky. We know that ZM had a tough life.
All xianxia stories to some extent work on the ‘luck’ concept. He HAS had plenty of luck before, actually, and I’ve been cool with it before, but this time it was a excessive and felt forced. It can be made up for, though. The author tries harder to balance things out and introduce difficulties occasionally compared to other authors.
