Chapter Three – An Overnight Celebrity

Including Qin Aotian who was usually calm, many pairs of eyes were unblinking like their owners had been struck by lightning. They were focused on the handsome youth in white clothing. The people who had known Aofeng before wondered if something was wrong with their ears. Rather than believe that Aofeng was Zhui Yun, they would believe that a sow could climb a tree!

What joke was this? The good-for-nothing that could not use any magic at all silently became a celestial magister? And a regent beast tamer?

That was more shocking than becoming a sword master!

Each year, the Qin Family would hold family tests. On the family tests, Aofeng always could not become a magister. Even if Qin Lian lied on this year’s magister test, could the previous tests all be wrong? Otherwise, like Qin Run said, Aofeng had been bullied all the time in Qin City.

It was certain that Aofeng had been a trash magister last year but jumped to celestial rank this year. What terrifying cultivation speed was this?

“Aohai, hit me, let me clear my mind, I am dreaming! I must be dreaming!” Qin Run’s eyes were shocked as he said to Qin Aohai next to him.

Qin Aohai was one of the people who knew the truth. He mourned inside for the people who were frightened, and grimaced at Qin Run. “Father, it is true. In Death Ridge, we found out. But Aofeng did not reveal it, and so I could not say.”

Qin Lian was still bedridden after the beating Qin Ding gave him, and so he was not present. Only Qin Aohai and Qin Jian, who had gone to Death Ridge, could be witnesses. Qin Run and the others looked with shock at Qin Jian. The latter shook his head and smiled. “Do not look at me like that. The truth is the truth. The magus beasts that I brought back from Death Ridge had all been tamed by Aofeng for us.”

Aofeng had tamed magus beasts for the other families, and did not treat Qin Jian badly. She tamed four sacred beasts for Qin Jian to divide among the family members that had gone that time. Qin Jian had been promoted because of this. No one had thought that they had come from Aofeng’s hands.

The Qin Family members who realized the truth almost fainted. They were going to die! What kind of person had they let go of!?

His Excellency Zhui Yun, a great genius who had become so popular in Karroll in just a month, and had talent greater than the Holy Emperor!

The people in the surroundings slowly woke up. Then, the banquet hall exploded.

“His Excellency Zhui Yun is Qin Aofeng of the Qin Family?”

“The younger brother of His Excellency Qin Aotian. I never heard of him before. But he is more vigorous than His Excellency Aotian. An overnight celebrity!”

“So terrifying. Sword master, celestial magister, regent beast tamer, no matter which identity, so scary. Don’t tell me he is a crafter, otherwise, I will find a piece of noodle and hang myself!”

His Excellency Zhui Yun was the good-for-nothing Qin Aofeng that the Qin Family once exiled. This shocking news would spread through all of the Kaya Empire and even the continent soon, just like the scandals of stars. Such a dramatic transformation from trash to treasure. This was what shocked people, and was more amazing than just a pure genius.

Chief Elder Arbitrator Shang Qian was flushed red, and smiling.

Yun Lu and the others of Central Cloud City had black faces. They said they would recruit Zhui Yun but now it was like this. With the boy’s vengeful personality, how could he be willing to join Central Cloud City? Thinking of this, Yun Lu glared hard at Yun Cheng who was dumbstruck. He should not have listened to this bastard and come to make trouble for Aofeng.

Coming with the Central Cloud battle team was to show strength to Aofeng. But not like this. Their goal was to recruit her and not make enemies!

“Your Excellency Zhui Yun…um, no no no, Your Excellency Qin Aofeng.” Mo Qi corrected halfway, and was very friendly towards Aofeng. He smiled. “Your Excellency knows the empress?”

Aofeng looked at Empress Su Ya. She found the other’s eyes were filled with more shock, and she was very emotional, her eyebrows furrowed as though she was in her memories from a long time ago.

“Yes, I and Mistress …Su Ya know each other,” Aofeng nodded and looked around, paused, and said mistress.

“No, not mistress, it is Mama!”

Empress Su Ya stilled and then excitedly interrupted Aofeng. There was an emotion in her clear eyes that Aofeng could not see through. She looked fixedly at Aofeng, and said gently, “Did you forget, at Neversetting Sun, you recognized me as your mother, you cannot lie.”

Aofeng looked up in shock. The other was agreeable to being called “Mama” by her in a situation like this? Wasn’t this meant to make her an “adopted son” in public?

The noble Mistress Su Ya, the Holy Maiden of Central Cloud City, was the adopted mother of this youth? This was another bomb that almost caused many people to stop breathing. The hall grew quiet again.

Yun Lu’s brows relaxed. He exhaled. Good, good, Mistress Su Ya and he had some friendship. Otherwise, this would be bad! Shang Qian felt that this was not good. He regretted not protecting Aofeng more just now. Then he could have gotten more chips to recruit Aofeng with.

It was unbelievable to hear. A youth of fifteen was the center of the thoughts of many experts on the continent.

Through the beautiful woman’s warm, ocean-like eyes, Aofeng felt a warm current wrap around her. She knew that Mistress Su Ya’s actions right now had no political intention, no desire to recruit her, just purely wanting to be her “mama.”

“Aofeng, are you not willing?” Su Ya reached out her hand, and waited gently and quietly.

Aofeng’s handsome face finally showed a small smile. She took a step forward, and gave a light hug, calling sincerely, “Mama Su Ya!”

In the silent hall, someone started to clap, and then the applause rang through the hall.

His Majesty Mo Qi smiled brightly, and then coughed. He asked Yun Lu and the others gravely, “Right, who is the person who cursed Central Cloud City? So daring,Your Excellency Yun Lu, speak, and this emperor will throw them out!”

Laughs rang out. The people who knew the situation looked at Yun Cheng and the others with mocking gazes.

Chief Defender Yun Lu sweated, and laughed awkwardly. “Your Majesty, it’s not so much. We asked for it, and there is nothing to worry about.”

The pitiful Mo Qi still did not understand, and said furiously, “Nonsense! What do you mean you asked for it? Disrespecting Central Cloud City is disrespecting this emperor! Your Excellency Yun Lu, speak. No matter who it is, this emperor will decide for you.”

“Your Majesty, it’s me.” Aofeng, standing behind Empress Su Ya, blinked her eyes in confusion and spoke up, “I said that His Excellency Yun Cheng was too childish, coming to block my way. Is that wrong?”

What! Aofeng?

“Uh…” Mo Qi sweated, and had a spectacular expression.

“No, no, no, Your Excellency Qin Aofeng, you were not wrong. It was this old man that was wrong to only listen to one side. In reality, you did not insult Central Cloud City.” Yun Lu smiled, and scraped Yun Cheng with a look. “Yun Cheng was in the wrong. With Your Excellency’s status, Yun Cheng cannot compare to you. Your Excellency is right. Even if you curse at him, that is giving him face!”

Yun Cheng’s face was green. He had never suffered like this. He wanted to kill himself. Qin Aoxue and Qin Lu had ashen faces. They did not dare to speak a word. This identity as “His Excellency Zhui Yun” had disrupted all their plans!

As Aofeng’s identity was revealed, this farce came to an end.

Under everyone’s admiring gazes, Aofeng held Mo Ling’s hands, and walked with Empress Su Ya into the middle of the hall. Jun Luoyu, Lei Yufeng, Yue Bingyan, Qin Aotian, and even Mo Zhu, who had been peeking at Aofeng from when he entered, followed behind her. At the middle of the hall, His Majesty announced the start of the evening banquet.

“Your Majesty, please wait a moment.” Just as everyone was going to toast, a large figure came in with a troop.

This was a large troop made out of knights. Each one was dressed in fine silver armor. With each step, they gave off fascinating metallic sounds. The man at the front was large, and very handsome, looking to be in his thirties. He wore a large black robe. But the killing intent that could only be created on the battlefield, this told Aofeng that this person’s real age was not small.

“Lightning King! And the Dragon Knights!”

“What kind of wind is blowing today? In the past, His Excellency and the Dragon Knights did not attend the banquet.”

“I think it is for His Excellency Qin Aofeng. Do not forget that there were some conflicts between the Dragon Knights and His Excellency.”

“Right…”

After hearing the discussion, Aofeng understood this person’s identity. The imperial Lightning King that had the military power of the Kaya Empire, His Excellency Lei Shan. He was Lei Yufeng’s father, and the son of the Venerable Swordsman Lei Ting. Only he could interrupt the emperor so loudly.

Mo Qi and Lei Shan were good friends of many years, and he did not care about this. He was just shocked at the other’s appearance. “Brother, don’t you dislike palace banquets? Why have you come with so many Dragon Knights?”

Lei Shan laughed brightly. “Your Majesty, it is like this. This is for His Excellency Lin Jiu.”

“His Excellency Lin Jiu? The one whose brother disappeared?”

“No, not really.” Lei Shan shook his head and said, “The Dragon Knights under His Excellency Lin Jiu’s command say that one of His Excellency Zhui Yun’s entourage has a powerful dragon that defeated our Dragon Knights. They are not accepting this. His Excellency Lin Jiu wants to spar today, and excite people as well. I thought that His Excellency Zhui Yun was going to come here, and came to trouble Your Majesty.”

Lei Shan had just arrived and did not know the situation. He looked around, and said loudly, “Is His Excellency Zhui Yun and that follower here?”

Editor’s ramblings: what’s with people and wanting to hang themselves with noodles. Way back in 01-16-02 someone wanted to hang themself with one if Aofeng wouldn’t let them follow her.
