Translator Ramblings: Dragons are the guardians of water. The story was that the exiled third dragon prince decided to help water the fields of an old farmer near a river as a good deed. The farmer was mystified. He was a friend of the Daoist of the local Dragon Temple and so the Daoist decided to investigate the mystery. He observed during the night and thought the dragon prince was a yao, a demon spirit, and attacked the prince. In anger, the prince retaliated, flooding the temple. The dragon king learned of this and sent his crustacean soldiers to arrest the demon spirit, not knowing it was his son.
